In a Nutshell

Our clients are energy suppliers. They supply electricity and gas to businesses and homes. Probably including your own home! It can be a complicated sector and so our clients often engage ENSEK to help. We are experts in Energy and our in-house operations team, which is where this role sits, act as an outsourced back office function.

So, what do we mean by settlements? It is the reconciliation of the difference between the energy purchased by the supplier and the energy sold to their customers. If there’s a difference, that will create a financial imbalance. It would be your job to investigate those imbalances, using accurate energy consumption data and our sophisticated software to ensure accurate billing. It's an investigative role with a data bias, requiring an analytical mind and a natural sense of curiosity.

Responsibilities

  1. Becoming an expert in ENSEK’s range of software and services relating to settlements.
  2. Capturing energy consumption data, including manual and smart meter reads to establish accurate, reliable and usable data.
  3. Analysing consumption data, putting in correction processes including simple meter read fixes and analysis of more complex underlying settlement issues.
  4. Owning customer issues, taking responsibility for the investigation, analysis and solution and the communication with the customer, so they know the matter is being dealt with effectively.
  5. Managing your stakeholders, both internally (Billing team, Ops colleagues etc) and externally (our clients who then deal with the end customer).
  6. Be part of the ENSEK managed service team, acting as one of our team of settlement experts for our clients

Key Skills

PROBLEM SOLVER

Understanding what causes settlement exceptions and imbalances often requires thinking outside of the box. You’ll have to solving investigating and solving customer-led issues.

ADAPTABLE

Every day is different. Our customers, our working practices and our priorities change. Can you handle that?

ANALYTICAL

It’s not essential, but if you have SQL knowledge then we’d love to meet you. At the very least, experience working with large data sets, checking data quality, analysing the patterns and understanding the dependencies will be key.

EXPERIENCE

The energy market is complicated. It would be ideal if you had a background in energy, but it’s not a deal breaker.
