ENSEK, the leading global retail energy Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider, has been recognised for its approach to workplace engagement with a sought-after industry standard.
Nottingham, 21 May 2021 - The fast-growing software company has scaled its workforce from 50 to 270 people in the last three years alone and has been certified by Best Companies for their commitment to employees, with a 1-star accreditation rating, which represents remarkable levels of engagement.
Today, ENSEK has been officially placed 45th in the top 50 Tech Companies to Work for in the UK, and 83rd in the Best 100 Companies to Work for in the Midlands.
The achievement comes after ENSEK implemented a number of new initiatives to create a sense of belonging and togetherness amongst new and long-serving employees during the pandemic. ENSEK took engagement virtual, introducing social activities such as a company-wide online Happy Hour and regular pub quiz, whilst maintaining physical connection through gift packages to employees’ homes. To support wellbeing the Mental Health First Aiders conducted regular briefings and an Employee Assistance programme was introduced.
ENSEK also introduced Culture Champions to nurture peer to peer support and to enable sustainable cultural change as the company continues to scale.
The software provider has continued to support traineeships, apprenticeships and graduate placements as a means of developing employees who are new to the workforce. Career and personal development is incredibly important to ENSEK, who have also introduced a learning & development platform to support all levels and roles in their journeys.
Additionally, employees receive a generous healthcare and benefits package, which has adapted throughout the pandemic to cater for changing needs.
Jon Slade, CEO of ENSEK “Placing 45th in the top 50 Tech Companies to Work for in the UK is an amazing achievement and I’m incredibly proud of the team for contributing to this process. It demonstrates that we’re moving in the right direction, listening to our people, and implementing improvements regularly. What makes it truly humbling is that it is voted for by our employees. Their feedback is invaluable”.
Best Companies has over 20 years’ experience in helping organisations measure and improve employee engagement using a robust methodology, with their accreditation standard certifying excellence in the workplace since 2006.
Jonathan Austin, Founder and CEO of Best Companies, said “Congratulations to ENSEK on this significant achievement of a 1-star accreditation. This award recognises that they understand the importance of workplace engagement and genuinely value their people.”
